Journal #41

This blog has directed us to describe a hero.  I think you can choose a few different ways to describe a "hero".  If you are talking about a typical movie hero, then you would find a lot of typical descriptions.  They would be very attractive to look at most likely, they would have a very athletic and abled body.  They would be able to take on any challenge, and when they came to the end of their rope and no one thought that they would be able to take on the challenge, their hot girlfriend/boyfriend would appear out of no where to assist them.  Another type of hero that you could choose to describe would be a Greek Mythology hero.  Hero's like Odysseus, Perseus, and of course Hercules.  These hero's were people that took on great tasks against great monsters that generally were much much much larger than them.  They were considered great and heroic because they weren't Gods.  They were mortal and still took on God-ly tasks.  These types of hero's also generally took on more of an attractive appearance, this was a trait that helped people to pick them out of a crowd.  During Greek times, men wore much less clothing and were considered "sexier" I suppose you could call it.  Greek Mythology needed hero's to hold it together.  All the stories that happened would not be able to stand unless there were mortals to make it stand.  That is a good way of describing a hero.  With out that person or thing, something would not be able to stand or go on.  They are some sort of adhesive and provide cohesion so something and someone can keep going on.  Another example of a hero are women.  Without us, men would not be able to stand.  They would not be able to get anything done, they'd never have any food, and they would make stupid decisions all over the place.  Of course, women need men, too.  I am slightly biased towards women.  No reason.
